Open Studio Model Sessions with Aaron Lubrick

Wednesdays, 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm
$15 per class, $10 for students

Open studio model sessions are designed for students of all ages who want to draw or paint from the live figure. A new model poses for the class each week each week. A program manager will ensure the quality of each session – instruction and feedback are optional. Open to advanced teens and adults. Bring your own supplies.

Classes take place at KSA, on the corner of Third and Breckinridge streets in Louisville.

Portfolio Prep for High School students with Churchill Davenport and Skylar Smith
Wednesdays 6pm – 9pm
Aug 25 – Sept 29 1 and Oct 13 – Nov 17
$150 six week session, $250 twelve week session

This Pre-College Portfolio Prep Class is an intensive experience in art for high school students looking to prepare their portfolios for the college admissions process. The course includes observational drawing, design, and composition, and it is designed to help students develop a strong foundation of skills, develop professional work habits and create a portfolio suitable for college admission. Although the course is primarily focused on observational drawing and painting, mixed media compositions, and other media may be explored. Some supplies included. Twelve-week session strongly suggested.

Art Into Words with Lynnell Edwards

This six-week writing multi-genre workshop will focus on drawing inspiration for creative writing from a different, art- immersed location in the area each week, such as: 21C Hotel/Museum; Flame Run, Huff Gallery, and other various local galleries.  At each session, we’ll hear from artists and curators, read examples of art-inspired poetry, essays, or short fiction, take time to generate new writing of our own, and discuss points of craft and revision.  Interested students may also discuss opportunities for publishing and publicly presenting work.

Open studio model sessions for those who want to draw or paint from the live figure; each section includes two models—one for quick poses for sketching, and one for sustained drawing or painting. A program manager will ensure the quality of each session. Instruction and feedback is optional. Open to advanced teens and adults. Bring your own supplies. Six-week and twelve-week sessions available.

Registration is limited. If minimum enrollment requirements are not met, KSA reserves the right to cancel any class. If a class is cancelled due to lack of enrollment, KSA will refund the price of the class or give credit towards another class.
